Performer Info

Katt Williams: Comedian, actor, and rapper Katt Williams has had quite an impressive career over the past decade. With a handful of stand-up specials, regular roles in television shows, and starring roles in hugely popular movies like First Sunday, Williams is one of the premier comedians in the US. His hilarious criticism of other celebrities, poignant jokes about smoking weed, and bits about being black in America made his stand-up tour dates one of the most popular in the business. Even though Williams has taken a noticeable break from stand-up comedy, he still has a few upcoming tour dates in 2012, with the possibility of a full comedy tour in the future.

Micah S. Katt Williams was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on September 2, 1971. He moved to San Francisco when he was seventeen and followed in his father's footsteps by joining the Nation of Islam. While underage and trying to sneak into a nightclub, Williams noticed that bouncers weren't checking IDs in the line for stand-up comedians. Williams entered through the comedian's entrance and was soon called up on stage to perform. His five minutes of panicked improv were well received, and Williams continued to perform tour dates around San Francisco.

The success of Williams' stand-up tour dates soon led to appearances on a number of BET stand-up shows, including Comicview and 106th & Park. This was shortly followed by his breakthrough role as Money Mike in Friday After Next, which kicked off the comedians acting career. His stand-up career received a boost in 2006 with the release of his first HBO special, Katt Williams: The Pimp Chronicles Pt. 1. The special was followed shortly in the same year by a DVD live stand-up performance, Katt Williams Live. The two stand-up specials gave way to a third in 2007, titled Katt Williams: American Hustle, which began an extremely busy year for the comedian. That same year, he was cast as the retired pimp, Lord Have Mercy, alongside Eddie Griffin and personal idol Eddie Murphy in Norbit. He also continued his popular run on Nick Cannon Presents: Wild 'N Out, which showed off William's freestyle battle talents.

In 2008, he released Katt Williams: It's Pimpin' Pimpin as well as gaining a starring role in First Sunday. Katt Williams' stand-up career continued to flourish when he released Katt Williams: Pimpadelic in 2009, and a DVD chronicling his earlier works titled, Katt Williams: Nine Lives, in 2010. While Williams has no comedy tour scheduled, he does have two tour dates in 2012. The first is an appearance at Power 106's Comedy Fiesta in Irvine, CA on October 4, and the second is a show at Carnegie Hall in New York on November 6. While he may not be in the limelight currently, fans can expect Katt to come back soon with more hilarity.
