Seminole Casino Coconut Creek Holds Powerball Ticket Giveaway

Vincent Grillo won 500 Powerball tickets at the casino before the record Powerball jackpot

On any given day you may find high rollers flocking to the Seminole Casino in Coconut Creek, hoping to win big.

But Wednesday night, guests were enticed by an additional bonus – the chance to strike it rich in the record $550 million Powerball jackpot.

"Hopefully, we're gonna be giving away the winning ticket,” said casino promotions manager Gary Friedman.

Casino officials gave 1,000 lucky Players Club members the chance to win an additional 500 Powerball tickets.

Vincent Grillo won that prize – making him confident that he would pocket some cash later in the night.

"Five hundred tickets, I think I can hit something!" Grillo said.

The $550 million dollar payout is the second largest in U.S. history. Tickets were selling nationwide at a rate of 130,000 a minute.

The estimated odds of matching all the numbers? One in 175 million.

At Coconut Creek, Henry Kong was feeling excited. Saul Dreier was feeling lucky.

"Somebody would go to a crazy house because of so much money, but I somehow, between charity and children, my grandchildren, somehow we'd work it out,” Dreier said.
